Snow to fall on Luxembourg, below freezing temperatures due

Snow, that eluded us at Chritmas, is due.

MeteoLux, Luxembourg’s weather service, has put the country on yellow alert.

It said snow is expected between Wednesday night at 9.00 pm and Thursday morning at 3.00 am.

A total of two centimetres to four centimetres of snow is expected.

There will also be strong wind, MeteoLux said.

Gusts between 70 kilometres an hour and 80 kilometres an hour are to be expected. On exposed heights, especially in the Oesling region, wind speeds could exceed 80 kilometres an hour, the office said.

On Thursday the temperature may fall to minus four degrees centigrade while snow and freezing fog are possible.
