There were dramatic scenes on Saturday night near Den Atelier in rue de Hollerich in the capital, when fire broke out in an apartment building opposite the concert venue causing the road to be blocked for some time.

The blaze broke out at about 10pm on the first floor of the building, the cause not known at this stage.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent buildings.

Luckily, no injuries were reported, but material damage was high.

While the fire was being extinguished and the area made safe, rue de Hollerich was completely closed to traffic.
