Luxembourg car flips onto roof in German motorway crash

Three people were reported injured in a three-car crash just over the border on the A1 in Germany Tuesday night, in which one Luxembourg registered car flipped over and landed on its roof.

The accident occurred at about 7:40pm near Hermeskeil, south of Trier, and according to police the three injured people were rushed to hospital in an accident currently being investigated as the cause is not known, although weather conditions could well have played a part.

The Luxembourg registered car ended up in a ditch by the side of the road on its roof. It has not been disclosed if the driver was one of the injured.

As a result of the accident, the road was partially blocked but one lane remained open.
