Minister Asselborn to Travel to China this Week

Luxembourg’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will be in China on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 July 2016 at the invitation of the Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi.

In addition to the meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Minister Asselborn will meet with the State Councillor, Yang Jiechi, the head of the International Department of Central Committee of Communist Party of China, Song Tao, head of the delegation of the EU in Beijing, Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, and a delegation from the Chinese Academy of social sciences.

Discussions between Jean Asselborn and his Chinese interlocutors will first focus on China-Luxembourg relations, as well as economic and commercial policy and culture. The meetings will also allow for an exchange of views on relations between the European Union and China. Finally, the meetings will address the major issues of regional and international politics.
