New Strategic Plan for Promoting Luxembourg’s Economy Abroad

The Council for Foreign Trade and Investment has validated the action plan of Luxembourg’s new economic development strategy.

Composed of the Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce, FEDIL, Luxinnovation and the Chamber of Trades, as well as representatives of different ministries, the Council for Foreign Trade and Investment met under the honorary chairmanship of HRH the Grand Duke on 14 December 2017 at the Ministry of the Economy.

The Council made the first assessment of the implementation of the national strategy for the promotion and economic canvassing of Luxembourg presented in February 2017. This strategy is based on a specific sectoral approach targeting companies and foreign investors that bring real added value to the national economy while consolidating the qualitative development of the country. The members of the Council for Foreign Trade and Investments also validated the related action plan for the year 2018.

During the meeting, the close collaboration between the different actors in charge of promotion and economic canvassing was recognised as a key element to guarantee the coherence and the relevance of the measures of economic promotion on an international level and to build the image of Luxembourg as a host country for sustainable activities with high added value.
