Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel heads to Paris next week for talks with French President François Hollande. Particular focus will be on summit preparations regarding the future of the European Union, taking place in September.

Bettel and Hollande’s meeting is planned for Tuesday next week and bilateral relations between the two countries will be an important part of their discussions.

But their focus will then turn towards a far wider topic—the future of the European Union, or more precisely preparations for a summit that takes place on the subject on September 16 in the Slovakian capital Bratislava.

Interestingly, the September meeting has been announced as an “informal summit of 27 countries”, meaning that the United Kingdom will not be present.
