The Hunsrück-Hahn airport and Deficit of EUR 17.4 million
The Hunsrück-Hahn airport has entered 2015 with a deficit of EUR 17.4 million. The Airport announced on Friday. Particularly significant falls in cargo traffic. The passenger figures of the cock, by contrast, experienced an increase of 9 percent compared to the previous year to around 2.7 million. “Now, the cargo sector has to follow suit,” said tap managing Director Markus Bunk, after a meeting of the Supervisory Board.

Still 315 Employees

The former US-airbase had been sold at the beginning of June to the largely unknown Chinese company Shanghai Yiqian Trading. Rhineland-Palatinate is to get for his share of 82.5 percent, including a former military real estate for 15 to 17 million Euro – but is obliged to the payment of subsidies of up to 70 million euros by 2024. However, the Parliament still has to agree to an adoption of the law for sale.
