From Tuesday 3,000 business bosses, politicians, scientists and other figures, will head to Switzerland for the World Economic Forum in Davos, and Luxembourg PM Xavier Bettel will be in attendance for the third time.

The State Ministry, who confirmed Bettel’s participation explained that currently the Prime Minister’s appointment calendar is “changing every hour”, and it was therefore not possible to publicise his programme.

Last year Bettel took the opportunity at the World Economic Forum to meet many economic and and political leaders in a short space of time. He also used his stay in Davos for an intensive discussion with ArcelorMittal boss Lakshmi Mittal.

The Chinese state and party chief Xi Jinping will also be attending the WEF, as well as British Prime Minister Theresa May and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble.

It is expected that more than 1,000 corporate executives – including Unilever, Goldman Sachs or Google – are also heading to Switzerland.
