PM Xavier Bettel to Attend Asia-Europe Meeting Summit in Mongolia

The 11th summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is being held in Ulan Bator in Mongolia on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 July 2016.

A total of 40 heads of state and government are expected to attend the dialogue between Asia and Europe, which this year will focus on “20 Years of ASEM: Partnership for the Future through Connectivity”.

ASEM, an inter-regional dialogue forum established in 1996, currently has 53 partners. The ASEM Summits are held every two years in succession in Europe and Asia. The 2014 summit was held in Milan in the presence of the Prime Minister.

During the 2016 summit, Prime Minister Bettel will have meetings with several counterparts to take stock of bilateral relations and major issues of the international agenda.
