Police warn motorcyclists to take extra care
Motorcyclists are being warned to take extra care on the roads now that the weather brings brighter days and drier road conditions.
Luxembourg police’s road safety campaign runs until April 30 and calls on motorcyclists to take precautionary measures on the road.
With the winter months behind us many motorcyclists are now hitting the road for the first time in a while.
According to Luxembourg police lack of practice is a major risk to most motorcyclists and are urging them to get used to accelerating and braking on their vehicles, stating it is just as important as a technical check.
A police spokesperson said: “It is essential that motorcyclists realise the specific and unforeseen dangers they can face at any point. Overestimating one’s capacities is a major factor when it comes to the risk of an accident.”
Since the start of 2017 two motorcyclists have been killed in Luxembourg.
