Francois Bausch Presents Budget Plan for Sustainable Transport

Luxembourg Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch, presented the Department of Transport and the Department of Public Works 2017 budgetary plan to the Commission of Sustainable Development.

The budget credits for 2017 will consider the government’s priorities regarding transport, which are namely the improvement of mobility in Agglo Luxembourg, Agglo Suf and Agglo Nordstad, the development of a sustainable approach for the mobility of people between all modes of transport, the contribution of means of transport to the development of logistics, and the improvement of road security.

The plan revealed that the Department of Transport’s total credits have risen to €935,845,075, which is 6.68% of the state’s global budget, €575,690,000 of which has been invested in infrastructure related to the railway and tramway fund.

As for the total credits for state buildings and road funds, this has risen to €841,375,017, to be invested mostly in school buildings and road networks.
