Bird Flu: Luxembourg Lifts Poultry Restrictions

Luxembourg’s Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection has annaoun ced that, following the favourable evolution of avian influenza in Luxembourg, the Grand Duchy will no longer be considered as a surveillance zone from 6 July 2017.

From this date, the measures implemented (animal containment, transport authorisations) will be lifted.

Nevertheless, it is important that all actors in the sector (amateur and professional farmers, traders) remain vigilant in order to avoid the introduction of the virus into flocks.

All imported live poultry must be accompanied by a health certificate and that any abnormal mortality must be reported to a veterinarian.
