Excavator Tumbles into River Alzette
On Wednesday morning, a workman escaped injury when the excavator he was operating tumbled into the river Alzette in Clausen.
The accident happened shortly before 09:00 on a construction site on the Montée de Clausen. After the worker had started the machine, he could not stop it as it broke through a barrier and fell several metres into the River Alzette.
Nobody was injured in the accident. The fire brigade service was summonsed tp the scene of the acident and, together with a number of frogment from the civil defence, they managed to retrieve the excavator from the river with the help of a special crane. The road was blocked during the recovery work but was later reopened.
