A total of 187 drivers were caught speeding during the 24-hour #SlowDownEurope campaign in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg Police confirmed 187 drivers were caught speeding and 16 of them were given a fine – nine for high-speed offence.

One driver, who was banned from driving until 2019, was caught driving under the influence of alcohol and when stopped by police he was carrying a small amount of cannabis.

As many as 56 people did not have their vehicle papers on them or were driving while on the phone.
