The Ministry of Higher Education and Research has announced the appointment of Yves Elsen to chair the Board of Governors of the University of Luxembourg.

Following the appointment of Yves Elsen at Friday’s government cabinet meeting, Véronique Hoffeld was subsequently appointed President of the board of the Fonds national de Recherche (FNR) and Thierry Wolter as Vice President.

Véronique Hoffeld and Thierry Wolter have been directors of the Fonds national de Recherche since November 2014; Véronique Hoffeld held the position of Vice President.

The Minister for Higher Education and Research, Mark Hansen, thanked Véronique Hoffeld and Thierry Wolter for agreeing to chair the Fonds nationale de Recherche. Minister Hansen is confident that, under the new presidency, the FNR will continue to contribute to both qualitative and quantitative development and visibility of public research in the context of the country’s socio-economic progress. He welcomed the prospective fruitful cooperation for the coming years.
