Luxembourg city Christmas tree removal details announced
The Ville de Luxembourg has announced that its Hygiene service is organising the collection and removal of used Christmas Trees during January 2018, for residents of the city.
Spray-dyed and/or decorated trees will be removed during weekly rubbish collection rounds.
“Clean” trees, i.e. those not dyed with spray and without decoration, will be collected separately, also on the day of the rubbish collection, or the day after, for the purpose of composting.
In both cases, it is sufficient to place the tree on the footpath or on the edge of the property before 06:00 am on the day of rubbish collection (the schedule of rounds per street is available on www.hid.vdl.lu).
Note that Christmas trees measuring more than two metres tall must be cut in half.
It is also possible to return the Christmas trees to the recycling centre on Route d’Arlon, open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 19:30 and Saturday from 08:30 to 18:00 (last entry 10 minutes before closing).
