Bettel and Tanson file complaint “hanging” tweet

The Ministry of State and the Minister of Justice announced that Xavier Bettel (DP) and Sam Tanson (déi Gréng) will file a complaint after the tweet of one of the organisers of the demonstrations against the government’s anti-Covid strategy.

Freedom of expression does not allow for everything to be said. On Christmas Day, one of the emblematic figures of the opposition to the government’s strategy in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the journalist Jean-Marie Jacoby, tweeted that in 1947, Xavier Bettel and Sam Tanson would have been sentenced to death by hanging by the judges of the Nuremberg tribunal, in reference to the trials against the leaders of the Third Reich.
