Nos Meilleurs Voeux at BIL Presents 26 Years of Luxembourg Art

The Galerie Indépendence at the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) launched Nos Meilleurs Voeux yesterday, an exhibition of personalised creations by Luxembourg’s artists.

In 1991, Raymond Niesen, CEO of BUROtrend, started a tradition of each year inviting a Luxembourg-based artist to create greetings cards for the company’s clients and friends. Specialist studios were then commissioned to produce hand-printed serigraphs of the works, which are signed and numbered by the artists. 40,000 such cards were created and sent out with the company’s best wishes for the years to come.

Featuring the original works, the serigraphs and lithographs for this retrospective exhibition, Nos Meilleurs Voeux presents a cross-section of Luxembourgish art over the past three decades with Rico Sequeira, Jean-Marie Biwer, Robert Brandy, François Valentiny, Frank Jons, Sumo, Anna Recker and Armand Strainchamps among the artists presented.

“We are delighted to present Raymond Niesen’s collection to the public,” said Hugues Delcourt, CEO, BIL.

“We share his commitment to supporting the nation’s artists and promoting the local art scene. This exhibition offers the public access to original works by the country’s leading artists of the last decades.”

Nos Meilleurs Vœux is open to the public on business days from 08:00 to 18:00 from 30 March until 9 June 2017.
