British & Irish Film Season set for Documentary Double Bill

After a stream of special guests over the past few days, the British and Irish film season 2018 is gearing up for a significant documentary double bill on Thursday, with two filmmakers in town for their film screenings.

Monday saw Simon Fellows, director of Steel Country starring Andrew Scott and shot in the US; Tuesday saw producer Hannah Stevenson, director Jason Wingard and actor Jack Carroll for their comedy Eaten by Lions, and Wednesday had Pauline Etienne over for Old Boys, a modern take on Cyrano de Bergerac.

Thursday sees a return to the Cinémathèque, with Maurice Fitzpatrick over for the screening of “In the Name of Peace: John Hume in America” at 18:30, followed by “Postcards from the 48%” with film-maker David Wilkinson, at 20:30. Both screenings will have post-screening Q&As.

Tickets €9/film or €15 for the double-bill, from www.luxembourg-ticket.lu; some tickets are expected to be available at the venue prior to each screening.
