Luxembourg to welcome 557 more refugees
The Grand Duchy welcomed 15 adults and five children on Tuesday as the first step in relocating a total of 557 refugees by the end of 2017.
The action falls under the plan set out in September 2015 by the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council, which agreed to relocate a total of 40,000 refugees from Greece and Italy.
OLAI (“Office luxembourgeois de l’accueil et de l’intégration”) will handle the reception and social support to the newcomers as they take the necessary steps to apply for international protection.
