Belval Pupils Raise €4.5k for Handicap International

Pupils from the École fondamentale de Belvaux-Poste have raised €4,500 for Handicap International as a result of their solidarity run.

On 14 October 2016, 285 Belvaux-Poste pupils took part in Handicap International’s second “Ech lafe géin d’Minnen” solidarity race, earning over €4,500 in support of victims of anti-personnel mines.

The race was set up to mobilise pupils aged between three and twelve following their participation in the awareness programme concerning “art against bombs” in 2014. The pupils took to the school’s football pitch and ran as part of the fight against anti-personnel mines, cluster munitions and explosive remnants of war.

Each pupil taking part in the race was sponsored by friends and family who made a donation to Handicap International. As such, the charity has congratulated the children on this act of solidarity.

The children who participated in the race received solidarity certificates to recognise their involvement.
