50 heavy goods vehicles receive police warning

A total of 50 heavy goods vehicles received a warning and two drivers were cautioned following a control on the A6 motorway.

The controls were carried out this week on the section between Luxembourg and Arlon and 76 heavy goods vehicles (HGV) were controlled by 27 police officers.

One driver, who was stopped on the N6 between Mamer and Capellen, was cautioned for carrying a car, non secured, which was hidden behind palettes.

Another driver was over the drink driving limit when breathalyzed by police at 8am on Thursday.

The aim of the controls was to ensure the vehicles were loaded securely, that drivers respect the law on the number of hours they are allowed to drive and that they adhere to the rule on security distance on the road.
