McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) has won a legal battle regarding the name of several food products and beverages. Singapore firm Future Enterprises was looking to register “MACCOFFEE” as a trademark in the EU, but the Union’s Intellectual Property Office rejected this request.
The firm attempted to challenge the move, but a Luxembourg court shut Future Enterprises down. Meanwhile, McDonald’s won the right to use the prefixes “Mc” and “Mac” on 12 products.
The decision was backed by the General Court.
