Luxembourg has headed the Council of European Union

The EU presidency passed to Luxembourg from Latvia on a rotational basis. In the coming months, the main topic of the European debt crisis in Greece. Luxembourg, July 1, held the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for the coming six months. One of the founding countries of the EU fulfils this role already for the 12th time. It is expected that in the coming months, the main topic of the European debt crisis in Greece. Luxembourg during the EU presidency, intends to focus priority attention on topics such as stimulating economic growth and employment, climate protection, mass influx of irregular migrants in Europe, internal market and foreign policy the EU’s role. Another topic for Luxembourg will be tax policy. This country has for many years provided businesses tax loopholes.
